Comprised of the Eldorado, Inspiration, McAllister, Klawatti, and North Klawatti glaciers, the Eldorado Icecap is a tremendous volume of ice. The Ice Cap Slam gets you up close and personal with this adventurous and starkly beautiful environment as you live, sleep, and climb for 5 days traversing the entirety of the icecap summiting all of its major peaks along the way. Here’s What To Expect

Itinerary

Day 1:

From the Eldorado Peak Trailhead we will ascend steeply to camp on the Eldorado Glacier or East Ridge of Eldorado Peak. After making camp, the team will review technical systems and get some much needed rest for the days ahead.

Day 2:

We will leave camp in the early morning hours to climb Eldorado Peak via the East Ridge with its iconic knife edge finish. After summiting, the team will pack up camp and traverse the Inspiration Glacier to Klawatti Col. After making camp, the team will then do an afternoon ascent of Klawatti Peak via the 4th class SE Ridge.

Day 3:

The team will descend the McAllister Glacier to the Dorado Needle and climb solid mid fifth class rock to the summit of this sought after peak. After a summit celebration, we will descend the NW Ridge and climb back to our camp for a well earned meal and a night of sleep.

Day 4:

We'll rise early once again to traverse north to Austera Peak. After climbing the summit chimney of Austera and rappelling back down, the team will continue on to Primus Peak and one of the most central and remote summits of the area. After enjoying the hard earned views, the team will retrace their steps back to camp.

Day 5:

We’ll sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast and descend back to the cars mid-morning. Expect to return to Bellingham by early evening.
